  John Monteath of Duchally, Parish of Blackford Perthshire, Scotland Inherited: 1801, One third share of Duchally Property 1: 15 Apr 1805, Bought out brothers' shares in Duchally & Foswell Hill Property 2: 1801, With 2 brothers bought 'turf ground of Foswell Hill' for 1,500 pounds Also living at Harperstone was a James Monteath (likely a brother), to whom were born: John m. b. 18.07.1796 James m. b. 1798 Isabel f. b. 21.07.1800 James is described as a shepherd for the later two births Harperstone farm still exists, standing on the Sherrifmuir road about half way between Dunblane and Blackford [10]
