  • Notes
    • Listed as the Landlord of the George Hotel from 1868 to 1871 and from 1881 - 1882

Abstract of Title of DANIEL Nash of S.Benfleet, farmer, to Whitehouse Farm (21a.) in S.Benfleet, reciting 1783-1815

Abstract of Title of DANIEL Nash of S.Benfleet, farmer, later of Chepstow (co. Monmouth), hotelkeeper ( and grands. of aforesaid Dan. Nash) and S. DANIEL F.K.p.Nash, to Southchurch Wick Farm (130a.) on Canvey Island [Southchurch detached]; marsh called Nascott lands alias Small Gains (60a.) on Canvey Island [Hadleigh detached]; Hadleigh Cross Farm (132a.) Whitehouse farm (21a.),several pieces of land called The Downs, part of Suttons Farm and Messuage, wharf and lime kiln erected thereon, 5 cottages in East Street, and blacksmith's shop, all in S.Benfleet;Southchurch Marsh alias Rack Hall Farm on Canvey Island [Southchurch detached]; 2 closes of arable land (14a.),formerly called Repleys, close of pasture (2a.) formerly called Muddefords, and messuage and land (25a.) called Suttons, all copyhold of manor of S.Benfleet

In a letter to Gordon Polley his mother May Nash said that all the Daniel Nash's were buried in Norwood Cemetery, and that his Great Grandfather was a homeopathic doctor. (Her accounts may or may not be accurate as there are errors and truths I can see in the letter, I do know that it was the LEAF side of the family that was into hemopathy so she may have confused the NASH and LEAF side on that issue).
