    Obituary Mar 1939 
    • Alexander Monteath McNaughton - An elder of College Street United Church, Alexander Monteath McNaughton died yesterday at his residence, 12 Major Street, in his 91st year. Son of Rev. and Mrs. Peter McNaughton, he was born in Vaughan Township, where he spent most of his life. His father a native of Perthshire, Scotland was a pioneer clergyman in Canada, preaching both in Gaelic and English, and founded a church in Vaughan Township. Mr. McNaughton watched with keen interest the development of Canada from its pioneer days, and even during the last years of his life was able to recall Canadian history from before Confederation. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Catherine at home, and Mrs. E. Ward, Collingwood; four sons, A. Cameron, K.C., and Donald, Toronto; Peter of Nelson, B.C. and John, Detroit.

Resting at his residence until Thursday morning, Service in Chapel of McDougall and Brown, 646 St. Clair West, ??? Pinewood, 2 p.m. Thursday. Internment in Maple Presbyterian Cemetery.

      Sold land on Concession 6, just south of Vellore (near Maple) abt 1922 to Charles Rutherford, it was "a fine 200 acre farm and is known as one of the best"
