• Notes

  James went to university (Manitoba probably) before joining the Fort Garry Horse and serving in France during the First World War. He later acquired a farm near Carberry (Manitoba) under a veterans program but this did not last. He was a practical engineer and traveled the world from his home in Calgary. Amongst other things, he was involved in bridge building in Indonesia. Never married, he died in Calgary but is buried in the family plot in Carman Greenwood Cemetery. [4, 5]
