Notes - Mr Daniel Nash kept a pack of foxhounds in Rayleigh and managed the Essex Union Foxhounds with Thomas Brewitt. Mr Nash, who died in 1859, has built for himself a large residence called Rayleigh Place and built or secured the Octagon House for the keeper of his hounds. (
