    • Memorial Stone at St Mary The Virgin, Dover Former Justice of the Peace and Town Councillor During the 1939-45 war he represented the Ministry of War Transport at Dover Held consular appointments for Finland, Germany, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, and Portugal. Appointed a member of the Order of the White Rose of Finland, the Order of Merit of France, Order of Merit of West Germany, Insignia of Chevalier of the Order of the Tree Stars of Latvia, the Order of St. Olav of Norway, and Officer of the Order of Oranje Nassau of the Netherlands. President of the Dover Sea Cadets Member of the Rotary Club, doner to Masonic Societies Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Agent of Lloyds and the Liverpool underwriters

      Uncle Jim was the eldest of the brothers and he was LLoyds Shipping Agent for Dover and he was responsible for providing Navigation Pilots for all english ships passing through the English Channel( there was no radar in those days) [5, 9, 10, 14]
