- Unable to find a will for Ann or her siblings, it's possible they were baptised in non-conformist chapels in the area as there is some indication that the family flirted with the non-conformist movement. The records for those chapels have not survived.
Hampshire Record Office copy of the baptism of Ann Knowlton gave the following, either it is the wrong Ann or the father's name was recorded incorrectly. At this point it can't be used given this problem.

This is the last will and testament of Ann Pitchford of Couchfield in the Parish of Hemel Hempstead Hertfordshire ****** form following that is to say first and ****I commend my soul into the hand of Almighty God my maker and etc etc that is to say ** executors pay funeral expenses that it is my wish to be buried as near as convenient to my last loving husband Francis Pitchford and to my dear" Mary Ann Pitchford all my wearing cloaks and the clok that stands in the ******* I will last that my sons William & Francis Pitchford shall have all the * * that was my brothers equally divided between them. I will that my goods and chattels plate & and * with my money in funds shall be equally divided between my three children William, Francis and Mary Ann Pitchford at the arrival of their twenty one years and not until that age provided * before my childrens of the age of 21.
