• Notes

  Family tradition states that Jane was sister to the famous Captain William Henry Norman for whom both the Norman River and the town Normanton in Australia are both named. Records indicate that Captain Norman was staying with his younger sister Jane in Ramsgate when he died in 1869. Jane Rose is also listed as a witness on his death certificate.
