      Early 1920's. Muir-Hill Service Equipment Ltd. Started by Mr Muir and Mr Hill developing the first Muir-Hill for Marcus Allen and Sons Ltd, brass and iron foundry together with chemical and mechanical engineering, at Old Trafford, Manchester.

      1931 Private company.

      1931 Loaders began playing a major role in sales alongside the dumpers. This is also the year that Edward Boydell took over and changed the name to E. Boydell and Co Ltd.

      1937 British Industries Fair Advert for Muir-Hill Machines. Muir-Hill Dumpers, 2-yard and 3-yard models for short distance haulage. Ability of Machines on soft ground and instantaneous tip are outstanding features. Model 45 Loading ~shovel loads loose materials from stock piles.       The wedding took place on Tuesday last week, at St. Mary's Church, of Miss Nora Amy Gates, youngest daughter of Captain and Mrs. W. Gates, to Mr. Albert Edwin Ryeland, second son of Captain and Mrs. Ryeland. The Rev. O. F. R. Strickland officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a dress of white satin and georgette, and silver trimmings. The bridesmaids were miss Ryeland (sister of the bridegroom) and Miss G. Martin (cousin of the bride), who wore pale blue crepe-de-chine dresses, and black picture hats. They carried shower bouquets, and wore gold brooches (the gifts of the bridegroom). The best man was Mr. Henry Ryeland (brother of the bridegroom). The honeymoon was spent at Blackpool. The bridegroom's gift to the bride consisted of furs, and the bride's to the bridegroom a gold watch. Mr. and Mrs. A. E.
