    • Sieur do La Verdure = Sior (Finder) of the Greenery
      Germain Doucet came to Nova Scotia in approximately 1632 with his two eldest children. His wife (or wives) are unidentified. While there has been much speculation as to a possible Native American wife for Germain, this seems doubtful; mtDNA analysis on matrilineal descendants of his daughter, Marguerite Louise, confirm her as Haplogroup T2, which is a characteristically European mtDNA signature.
