Notes - The will of William Liddell Grantham states:
This is the last will and testament of me William Liddell Grantham of the borough of Kingston upon Hull, Bootmaker. I give and bequeath to my dear wife Annie Twidall Grantham all my household furniture, plate, linen, china, pictures, and other household effects for her own absolute use and benefit. I give and bequeath to my Grandson Thomas William Grantham if and when he shall attain the age of seventeen years, my gold watch and chain and I direct that the receipt of my said grandson Thomas William Grantham for the said watch and chain shall be a valid discharge so soon as he attains the age of seventeen years. I give and bequeath my ten shares in the Hull and Barnsley Railway Company unto my executors hereinafter named Upon Trust to sell the same and as to one half the net proceeds for my son George Liddell Grantham and the other half thereof to be divided between and amongst my grandchildren, the children of James Richard Bowring in equal shares and proportions. I give and bequeath unto my foreman George Spreckley for his own absolute use and benefit the sum of ten pounds and my four shares in the Starr Bowkett Building Society. I give devise and bequeath unto James Tall of Wright Street in the said borough, auctioneer, Cornelius Charles Clark of Percy Street in the said borough, coppersmith, and the said George Spreckley all my real estate and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever not herein before specifically disposed of Upon Trust as soon as conveniently may be after my decease to sell convert collect and get in the same and after paying thereout all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and the costs and charges of proving and registering this my will to divide the net proceeds thereof between my sons Thomas William Grantham and George Liddell Grantham their heirs executors administrators and assigns in equal shares and proportions as tenants in common and not as joint tenants. I give and devise unto the said James Tall, Cornelius Charles Clark, and George Spreckley their heirs and assigns all estates vested in me as trustee or mortgagee subject to the trusts and equities affecting the same respectively I appoint the said James Tall, Cornelius Charles Clark, and George Spreckley the Trustees and Executors of this my will and direct that the said James Tall whether he shall accept the trusteeship or not shall be the Auctioneer for the sale of such of my real and personal estate as shall be sold by public auction and as such auctioneer notwithstanding his acceptance of the trusteeship he shall be allowed all professional and other charges for his time and trouble which if employed as auctioneer to my trustees not being himself a trustee he would be entitled to make. And lastly I revoke all wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have set my hand this twenty third day of August one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two.
