- Information below about this individual and family kindly supplied by Sue [Email: susanrob@beyond.net.au] who writes (2006):
"Henry's other brother is John Warman MAJOR. As you say, he shows up on the 1851 Census with wife Jane, but not confirmed that is the correct person. I managed to follow the family through from 1851-1891 Census and finally on the 1891 Census, he is listed as John W. MAJOR, Widow. So, I would say that he is definitely Henry's Brother. If you would like all the Census records, don't hesitate to ask."
In the 1851 UK Census there is a 24-year-old John, with wife Jane age 27 and daughter Jane age 4. No sign of the other family members.
John Warman Major - Marriages Mar 1850 Major John Warman Elham 5 184 (To MARSH Margaret, NEWMAN Elizabeth, SIMS Mary or WARMAN Sarah Jane). So if the census is correct and he married a Jane, that would be another Warman connection but no FreeBMD hit for death of a Jane or Sarah Jane Major.
