4151 | Indications are that Richard and Sarah split and Richard went to join the Excise in London. This is where he met Dinah Burton. Because the woman were so far apart it was simpler not to try and marry Dinah as divorce was only for people with a bit of money. Richard and Dinah Burton then started to have children but either married later (as per the Banns in 1850) or never at all. | KEBELL, Richard (I4729)

Sue indicates regarding a query about Susannah & Elizabeth SPEARPOINT (dau's of Henry/Sarah MATSON). "I think you will find that Susannah and her Sister, Elizabeth, were both 'born' 19 April 1799 and 'Baptised' 8 November 1801, Zion Chapel Fenchurch Street-Lady Huntingdon Form, Folkestone, KEN. Thus the two dates you have (See online IGI). Still has to be confirmed but from what you have said, you already have the birth information from the PR's." -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------ SUSANNA SPEARPOINT Female Birth: 19 APR 1799 Christening: 08 NOV 1801 Zion Chapel Fenchurch Street-Lady Huntingdons, Folkestone, Kent, England Parents: Father: HENERY SPEARPOINT Family Mother: SARAH MATSON IGI Source Information: Batch No.: Dates: Source Call No.: Type: Printout Call No.: Type: C068271 1779 - 1836 0596907 (RG4 1006) Film 6906488 Film Susannah Spearpoint, b.# 19/4/1799, c.# 8/11/1801, Zion Chapel Fenchurch Street-Lady Huntingdon Form, Folkestone, KEN + John Major , m.#30/8/1825, Folkestone, KEN NOTE: Need to site Marriage records to see if John's Father is mentioned, or his age at marriage, if none, maybe the 1841Census. Perhaps check Burials in Folkstone Cem. to see if he is buried with wife, Susannah, maybe that would state his age at death. Unfortunately, the Father's both being John's, will be difficult to establish correct person. c.# 1/9/1802, Folkestone, KEN - Parents: John MAJOR and An (NOTE: This is the line I have listed) c.# 31/8/1803, Folkestone, KEN - Parents: John MAJOR and Eliz | SPEARPOINT, Susannah (I14618)

4175 | Information below about this individual and family kindly supplied by Sue [Email: susanrob@beyond.net.au] who writes (2006): "Henry's other brother is John Warman MAJOR. As you say, he shows up on the 1851 Census with wife Jane, but not confirmed that is the correct person. I managed to follow the family through from 1851-1891 Census and finally on the 1891 Census, he is listed as John W. MAJOR, Widow. So, I would say that he is definitely Henry's Brother. If you would like all the Census records, don't hesitate to ask." In the 1851 UK Census there is a 24-year-old John, with wife Jane age 27 and daughter Jane age 4. No sign of the other family members. John Warman Major - Marriages Mar 1850 Major John Warman Elham 5 184 (To MARSH Margaret, NEWMAN Elizabeth, SIMS Mary or WARMAN Sarah Jane). So if the census is correct and he married a Jane, that would be another Warman connection but no FreeBMD hit for death of a Jane or Sarah Jane Major. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------ Marriages Mar 1850 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------ Surname Given Name District Volume Page Major John Warman Elham 5 184 The district Elham is in the county of Kent. ------- 1881 British Census Household Record Household: Name Relation Marital Status Gender Age Birthplace Occupation Disability John W. 4197 | It is likely that his father was James LAFFERTY, he certainly used the LAFFERTY name in all the records I have found but his baptism lists him as McGuire, possibly because his parents were not married and the priest knew of that fact. His sister who was baptised two years earlier was under the LAFFERTY name and even listed James as her father in the record. 4200 | It is possible that this Samuel (or maybe his son) is the related Kinnear that Aunt Annie had heard went to Scotland and assumed had remained there. Since then she has heard from Jack Kinnear (perhaps through Miriam) that his father or grandfather had gone to Scotland but later returned to N.Ireland. Jack thinks his grandfather was called either William or Samuel. If it was Samuel then it may well be this Samuel born in 1843 | KINNER, Samuel (I7304)
