The significance of her chemise is that she brought none of her first husband's debts to her second. She called widow of Arie Franssen, born Amsterdam, Resident Kingston. She was a witness in 1712, a sponsor at bith of Neeltje, illegitimate daughter of Willamtje in 1716, and a sponsor in 1723. Her name appears in various forms; Rachel Jansen Pyer, Rachel Janse Pier, Ragel Jans, Rachel Jans, Rachel Jansen Pier and Rachel Pier.

Bill Tufts information: Rachel Janse Pier, m2 17 Apr., 1699, "Albert Ploeg"(source not given; marriage date is correc t. Arie's death date not verified).
