He was a high school teacher and lived at Titirangi near Auckland. He taught in several schools including Patea and was teaching at Ngatia near Thames when he died, although he was still living at Titirangi. Elizabeth taught at New Lynn High School. Elisabeth and children subsequently moved back to England some years latter, although I believe they are now back in NZ. Trevor started his degree at Auckland University but completed it while working.

Notes:

Buried at Andersons Bay Cemetery amongst the war graves at Block 70, Plot 28, Stone 78. Before the war he was an engineer in New Plymouth. He served in France with the NZ Rifle Brigade and the 3\super rd\nosupersub Battalion, Otago Infantry Regiment from December 1916 to October 1917 until he was wounded in action. After the war in 1922 he and his brother George started farming at Warea. In 1930 George moved to New Plymouth to become a salesman and Hugh continued farming until 1951. The family then moved to Dunedin.

Hugh married Edith Alexandra JONES on 10 Jun 1925 in Warea, , , New Zealand. Edith and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
