    Carmania
    Ship Name: Carmania
    Years in service: 1905-
    Funnels: 2
    Masts: 2
    Shipping Line: Cunard
Ship Description: Built by John Brown & CO., Clydebank, Glasgow, Scotland. Tonnage: 19,566. Dimensions: 650' x 72' (678' o.l.). Triple-screw, 18 1/2 knots. Steam turbines. Two masts and two funnels.
History: Navigating bridge 60 feet above water line and 90 feet from keel. First Cunarder to be fitted with steam turbines. A faster ship than her sister, which had reciprocating engines. Engaged the armed German liner Cap Trafalgar off Trinidad Island, September 14, 1914, and after many shots had been fired the Hamburg-American liner was sunk.
