- Kathleen Florence Brownhill's birth was registered in 1882, (Birth Certificate No.10538 - registered at Goulburn, NSW). Her parents were given as James & Henrietta. By 1913 she had moved to Sydney and the following was recorded in the: 1913 Division of Parramatta - Gordon to Hornsby Electoral Roll:- 763 - BROWNHILL - Kathleen Florence Lane Cove Road, Roseville, Teacher. (This entry was below that of my Grandmother who was Ellen Brownhill, from Aston, Birmingham, England who married Arthur William Pearson the following year.) In 1919 - (Marriage Certificate No. 7473 - registered at Sydney) - Kate married Herbert Godwin (or Goodwin) MALLAM. Herbert was born in Armidale, NSW in 1870. He was a widower at that time with 2 sons - Walter born in 1905 and Gordon born in 1907. His wife Margaret (nee Ross) died in Armidale in 1910. Herbert & Margaret had been married there in 1902. Kate and Herb lived in Armidale for many years, but I can't find any further family for them. She died there on the 26 Nov, 1950. Kathleen F Mallam left a will. It was No. 371643 Possible Series 4? (This information from the Probate Index, which gives her date of death.) According to AGCI (Australasian Genealogical Computer Index) both Kate and Herb died the same day, but I think this is an error, and I couldn't find any will left by Herb, but I can check this out further on my next visit to Sydney.
