  Obituary	"(He)...was born in Tyendinaga, and converted in Prince Edward County under the ministry of Rev. F. B. Stratton, in 1870. Since that time he remained an ernest christian, full of Godly zeal, and always rejoycing in hope. For a few years past he has lived in the Township of Sombra (Lambton Co.) Never a strong man, the endeavours he put forth to make a home for his family in the bush, told heavily upon him. He was one of the pilliars of the Otterville appointment, South dawson Mission, and at his death the church experienced a great loss. He died rather suddenly in the night of November 16, joyful in the Lord, aged 47 years. He leaves a widow and seven children to mourn their loss. His remains were deposited in the cemetery at Salem Church, near Tupperville (Kent County - probably chatham Township)." by T. N. Goodburne in the "Christian Guardian", Toronto on February 3, 1892. Repeated in H. N. Ruttan's "A Part of the Family of Ruttan", 1986 p.66.
