I normally don't post all the IGI data as source information since it is so readily available. The record also shows that "a" (I think this is "the") John Penny married Elizabeth Smith on 12 NOV 1758 in Folkestone and that they had two children recorded in the IGI, John Penny c: MAR 1761 in Folkestone and Baker Penny c: JUN 1764 in Folkestone. We know quite a lot about these individuals, but there is room for much additional research and possible corrections in assumptions. There also is some confusion with the John Penny/Panny born in 1741 who is listed as the husband of Judith Wood. We find a John Penny married Judith WOOD, 23 Jul 1768 in St Mary's The Virgin Church, Dover, Kent. Died Jan 1805 in Folkestone, Kent. They had the following children: i. Ann PENNY; Born 1769. Christened 13 Dec 1769 in Folkestone, Kent. ii. Richard PENNY iii. William Wood PENNY; Born 1775. Christened 24 May 1775 in Folkestone, Kent. Research Batch No P020721. Shelley Haigger writes, "In an attempt to fathom out why you had not considered that the John PENNY who married Judith WOOD could be the son of Richard PENNY and Sarah RADFORD, I searched the IGI (as you stated this as your source) and couldn't find him. I eventually found him as John PANNY bp 1741 son of Richard and Sarah PANNY. I don't have any evidence to support my theory that my John PENNY (husband of Judith WOOD) COULD be the son of Richard and Sarah but I can say that he was not previously married to Elizabeth SMITH - that was a different John PENNY. Therefore, John PENNY (son of Baker PENNY and Elizabeth MIDDLETON) married Elizabeth SMITH but he did not marry Judith WOOD."
