  • Notes
    • Source of the following notes is Jane E. Marshall who writes (2002):

Charlotte Browning Marshall was living with daughter Lily and her husband in Northants when she died in 1962 in the hospital at Banbury, Oxfordshire.

1881 Census entry for William and his daughter Charlotte in London:

There are Castles in Folkestone, Kent, England so maybe a rel. of William even. 2] I found the following record for 5 Sugarloaf Court, unfortunately undated (and I did not make a note of where I got the reference from):

Davis S. Mercht. 5, Sugar loaf court, Leadenhall street

but it shows where Sugar Loaf Court was in those days. However, was this St Bride therefor distinct from St Brides which is actually in the Fleet Street area (St Bride being the patron saint of printers) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- According to David Marshall in lit. Granny Marshall met Thomas when she was working in a rest aurant/cafe in Folkestone, Kent, England and a man died. Grandad was the only one who showed any kindness and came to help her. ==================================== Charlotte was born at 5 Sugar Loaf Court acc. her birth certificate ========================================================================

1901 census Folkestone, Kent *A North Street

Charlotte M. Marshall wife 24 London, St Brides Edith L? daughter 1 Kent Folkestone Harry Browning brother 17 Folkestone

Thomas was probably at sea on the Invicta
