Roblin was similarly unwilling to make dramatic changes to labour relations, or even to take steps to ensure that existing labour standards were properly enforced. --Library and Archives Canada: Dictionary of Canadian Biography Online: HARRIS, JOSEPH ... in July 1897 Harris joined with several other merchants, including Rodmond Palen Roblin, Samuel A. Notes:

Roblin's Mills at Sophiasburgh had one of the best mill sites in the County. Five mills operated within a half mile. The water was diverted from mill wheel to mill wheel by sluices. There was a mill at the edge of the cliff, below it stood the original Roblin mill called the Cooperage. Further down were two mills run off the same wheel-one for sawing and one for grinding. The waters from this mill were carried by overhead sluice to the last mill which stood near the bay. This one is known as Levi Roblin's Mill. Levi built his home on the dock because he loved the water. His mill was run by the pouring water from the sluice over a paddle wheel and it, in turn, worked an arm which turned a flywheel. The Roblin mills were adjacent to the shipyards. - from

Levi drowned himself in the muddy pond behind the big red barn that can be seen from his tombstone at Fish Lake. Apparently, in his old age, he and his second wife Elizabeth Osbourne had no "means" to live on. But his sons by his first wife would not support their step-mother. So the old folks were separated and one of her girls took Elizabeth Osbourne Roblin in. But old Levi was lonesome without her and committed suicide.

    (Research):
Deborah Way was born 23 Jul 1793 in Brunswick, New York. She married Johannes Kotchapaw in 1815 in Brunswick, New York. About ten children were born to them there.

Then about 1826, John, Deborah and some of their children moved to a place near Belleville, Ontario. Deborah's brother, Reuben Bedell Way, and his family and Johannes' brother George Kotchapaw emigrated with them.

They likely chose to come to Prince Edward County because they had relatives there. Jacob Ketchabaw, John's brother had moved to Hastings County in about 1813. Also, Deborah's Uncle, Daniel Way, and his sons Samuel, James and Benjamin had settled there in 1789 as United Empire Loyalists after the War of Independence.

Although Deborah's grandfather had fought as a patriot during the War of Independence, his son Daniel and Daniel's three sons chose to adhere to the crown. Likely for this reason, Francis disinherited Daniel leaving him only a token amount of money
