    Notes:

Just who the patriarch of the Monteaths of Park of Jerah was is unclear and the first record so far unearthed is from the Dunblane Testaments: 15 Dec 1664 - Andrew Monteath of Park of Jerah & Geils Kinross.

Many Monteaths are in the Logie Parish residing over 100yrs after the above Andrew, some at Park of Jerah, & Little Jerah who could be descended from him or his sons, proof seems impossible but I have noted the possibilities[?], some could be correct but unless someone unearths private family documentation we shall always wonder. Coldhome which was later occupied by a descendant of Elizabeth & Alexanders had in 1691, John Monteath & his wife Janet Viccar farming there and by the naming laws this would be a brother of Alexanders. Sponsors for the baptisms of some of Alexander & Elizabeths children at Park of Jerah were John, William & Patrick Monteath plus Richard Henderson. Richard was the husband of Agnes Monteath and I have discovered in Perthshire in that era of sponsors they were mostly siblings or close relatives. Therefore I have placed all those people in Alexanders family, remembering that they may well be just cousins, but to easily keep track of detail of these I have entered them.

Patrick married Margaret GILLESPIE. Margaret and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
