Canadian investment banker and visionary John MacNaughton dies at 67
Leading figure in Canadian finance remembered as a man of 'integrity and complete credibility.'

John MacNaughton was one of Canada's most distinguished investment firm executives, and the first president of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. He died Friday at age 67.

Obituary:
Alexander Monteath McNaughton - An elder of College Street United Church, Alexander Monteath McNaughton died yesterday at his residence, 12 Major Street, in his 91st year. Son of Rev. and Mrs. Peter McNaughton, he was born in Vaughan Township, where he spent most of his life. His father a native of Perthshire, Scotland was a pioneer clergyman in Canada, preaching both in Gaelic and English, and founded a church in Vaughan Township. Mr. McNaughton watched with keen interest the development of Canada from its pioneer days, and even during the last years of his life was able to recall Canadian history from before Confederation. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Catherine at home, and Mrs. E. Ward, Collingwood; four sons, A. Cameron, K.C., and Donald, Toronto; Peter of Nelson, B.C. and John, Detroit.

Resting at his residence until Thursday morning, Service in Chapel of McDougall and Brown, 646 St. Clair West, ??? Pinewood, 2 p.m. Thursday. Internment in Maple Presbyterian Cemetery.
