Brilliant but uneducated woman. First two loves went to First World War. One Leon who she met while at finishing school in Paris in 1914 was killed at Verdunne. She married an Irish Doctor but still maintained contact with her second love Tom all her life. Lived in Buxton, Hop garden cottage, Sussex and Southern Ireland after World War II but could not stand the weather. Lived in Aldrick Road, Bognor Regis until husband's death and in Auckland New Zealand for the last six months of her life with her second son Miles and his very new pregnant wife. She was much loved but did not live long enough to see her new grandchild Chloe dying a two days after her birth. She always hoped to find an Edward Gibbon Wakefield relation.

Worked as his Housekeeper for the first Mrs Emma Wakefield.Married her employer after her death in 1896 and had a child, Winifred "Mume" Wakefield when she was 39 and her husband 70! After his death five years later she and Mume continued to live in Hove. She bought Mume up to be a lady! She died in 1922
