  1. 8.  William KINNER was born about 1750 in Ballydonnety, County Down, Northern Ireland; and died.

    Other Events and Attributes:

    • _UID: 96BB9CCF7D2F462080CC7A0EC1D4AC4A2DF5

    Notes:

We do not know who his wife was or exactly how many children they had. However, there is evidence to suggest that he had, at least, the following

We know that John(2) and William(3) were brothers as two of their sons are referred to as cousins in later marriage records of Downpatrick Unitarian church. In turn, descendants of William and James (4) were known by Mum and Aunt Annie to be fairly closely related. The old baptismal records for the Downpatrick Unitarian church show a James Kinnear born to William in 1779. Based on this and the above, I have assumed that they were all brothers and sons of William (1)

Note William is as far back as I have managed to trace the links.

Here is a record however from 2 generations earlier to a John Kinner. There's every chance that this John was an earlier relative of our William Kinner, perhaps even his grandfather as the family name "John" is repeated in later generations:

John Kinner and ANN CARSON Family Marriage: 02 MAY 1717 Downpatrick, Down, Ireland

Source: The Down/Downpatrick Parish Church, county Down, Northern Ireland : baptisms 1733-1854, marriages 1700-1875, burials 1719-1867 Stmnt.Resp. extracted from the original by Edward Rea ; copied by David Stewart, 1930, and by Z. Mettam, 1966

    Children:
    1. John KINNER was born about 1765 in Cranley, , Down, Northern Ireland; died before 1825.
    2. 4. William KINNER was born about 1775; died before 1835.
    3. James KINNER was born about 1779; was christened on 26 Apr 1779 in Downpatrick, , Down, Northern Ireland; died before 1848.
