    Notes:

Long time choir member, Betty Ryeland retires By Richard Baker About forty years ago, Peter and Betty Ryeland moved from Sault Saint Marie with their four children to take up residence in Aurora. Shortly thereafter, Betty joined the choir at Trinity and brought her considerable musical talents and love of Anglican liturgy to enrich the music programme, which was then under the direction of Ruth Harris. Both then and for many years thereafter, she was the choir's soprano soloist and would from time to time perform a solo recital. It was also the start of an enduring friendship with musicians Illtyd and Ruth Harris, and Betty always enjoyed visiting the beautiful "English Country Garden" at the Harris house on Mark Street and spending time in the summer with them at their cottage in Parry Sound. After Ruth retired in 1972, Betty continued in the choir with subsequent directors Greg Paskaruk, Richard Baker and Tony Browning, always making a substantial contribution to the musical life at Trinity. It was a very difficult decision that she made to retire from the choir due to mobility problems, and she misses being part of the Adult Choir immensely. Our music programme has that effect on people! The parish offers her our heartfelt thanks for all that she contributed and continues to contribute to the life of Trinity.

Went to live with her parents with her two sons while her husband went to Canada to find work before going over to join him.

    Notes:

There is a headstone to the memory of William Emblin in the graveyard of Stoke St. Michael Church, Somerset. According to information passed on by his daughter Cicely Browning (Nee Emblin) on 25 April 1999, William met Clara Preece, his wife to be, at their place of employment which was The Wells Lunatic Asylum, Somerset.
Cicely also stated at this time that William had three sisters named Polly, Emily and Sarah. She further stated that William's father was Edward R. Green, a farmer from Oakhill and that his mother Ann had been in this farmers employ and that he had purchased a house in Stoke Lane for Ann. These points are confirmation of the same information passed on by Greta Beryl Adams (Nee Emblin) at an earlier interview date. What part (if any) of this can be taken as the true fact is purely a matter of conjecture. It may simply have been a family story that fitted in nicely with the situation.

    Notes:

The Western Gazette on Friday 14 June 1867 shows Ann being awarded 1s 6d per week from James Perkins. Could this be because he was the father of Mary Matilda?

In the 1911 census it was written that she had 4 children 4 of whom were still living, then those fours were covered up with zeros.
