You will note that the name Matthew Pride is on both certificates. I under stand Thomas and Sarah died while still quite young and Matthew became Gua rdian to Sarah, daughter of Thomas and Sarah.

The Pride family owned Llandaff Mill and Thomas Lewis was a member of t he Lewis of Van family, the old Van mansion is a few miles from Caerphil ly Castle. Cousin Mildred would have told you about the Lewis family, a br anch lived at "greenmeadow" Tongwynlias. the arms of the family hang outsi de the local inn (The Old Ton Inn).
