William died on the 3rd March 1968 at his home, 3 Station Road. He had lived th ere since at least 1941, not sure of the date they moved there. The death was r eported by his only child, Ernest William Punnett, the next day.William was kno wn locally as 'Old Bill', there was a note to this in the obituary. The occupat ion on the death crtificate was, general farm worker, retired.

William was in the workhouse at Lyminge in the 1871 census aged 6 years.In the census of 1891 he was living at Elham at Duck Street and working as a tailor, t he family were still there in 1901.On Williams death certificate it states that he was a tailor (journeyman) of Elham RD, although William died at the Workhou se in Lyminge. The death was registered 27th February 1908

Emma was listed as a widow on the 1881 census. At the birth of Louisa John was living at Sellinge, working as an agricultural labourer. In 1864 he was living at Stanford, a brickyard labourer. In the 1871 census, five of his children wer e in the workhouse at Lyminge.

John married Emma WRIGHT in Sep 1857 in Elham, , Kent, England. Emma was born in 1842 in Maidstone, , Kent, England; died on 24 Jun 1935 in Ashford, , Kent, England. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
